Alexis won tickets to "The Winter's Tale" and we went on Monday night. The setting itself is gorgeous. The theatre is right near Turtle Pond in Central Park. The play starts while its still light out and continues through sundown into the night. The actors are mostly from fantastic Broadway backgrounds, and a few are recognizable from tv! If you can manage to win tickets through the virtual ticketing (all tickets are given out at random for free... not to the highest bidder) I highly recommend going.
I'm trying to win tickets now to "The Merchant of Venice" with my boy Pacino!
Shakespeare in the Park is one of one of New York City's most beloved summer traditions. New York natives and visitors alike have been enjoying free Shakespeare in Central Park since performances began in 1954. Now 56 years after Joseph Papp first conceived the project, The Public Theater is proud to present Shakespeare in the Park 2010.
