Catholic Charities Volunteers (and Archbishop Dolan) Make Christmas
Possible for More Than 1700 Individuals on Kmart Shopping Day
Archbishop Dolan searches for the perfect gifts for families in need
during St. Nicholas Project Kmart Shopping Day
Archbishop Dolan joined hundreds of Catholic Charities volunteers at
Kmart on Saturday December 11th to shop for families in need in our
archdiocese as part of the annual St. Nicholas Project Shopping Day.
This year's Shopping Day provided blankets, coats, hats, scarves and
other winter necessities for a total of 1,728 individuals that are
part of the St. Nicholas Project/Adopt-A-Family Program.
The St. Nicholas Project, supported by the the Catholic Charities
Junior Board, provides year-round social services to families in need,
helping them reach a point where they can support themselves.

Melissa and I also volunteered for this event. it was pretty tiring,
but we were just doing what we do best.....SHOPPING. In 2011, I really
want to get even more involved in Catholic Charities!
